82, a resident of 1598 Red Oak Dr., Roxboro, died Tuesday, July 3 at Granville Medical Center. He was the son of the late Frank R. Monroe, Sr and Vinney Simpson Monroe. He was a retired supervisor at Burlington Industries.

He is survived by two sons, Ellis "Rodney" Monroe, Sr. of Durham, and Frederick Dante' Monroe of Oxford; a brother, Donald Monroe of LanHam, MD; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 7 at 12:00 P.M. at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Roxboro. Burial will be in Peace Memorial Gardens also in Roxboro. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Dante' Monroe, 6668 Jacyes Dr. in Oxford. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, July 6 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
