73, a native of Granville County, died Tuesday, Dec. 20 in Orange, NJ. He was the son of the late Eugene W. Lyon, Sr. and Annie Beatrice Hunt Lyon. He was the step-son of the late Vivian Lyon.

He is survived by three sons, Antonio Smith of Nashville, TN, Darrell Lyon (Towanda) of Pennsylvania and Eugene R. Lyon (Jamiria) of Sanford, NC; two daughters, Lisa White of Pottstown, PA and Angie McGill of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Minister Barbara Morton (Rev. Phil) of Creedmoor, NC, Rev. Jennifer Wimbush (Rev. Aubrey) of Capitol Heights, MD and Brenda Samuels (Joe) of Washington, DC; three brothers, Anthony "Lagrant" Lyon of Irvington, NJ, Joseph "Joey" Lyon (Wanda) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Marion "Freddie" Lyon of Washington, DC; five grandchildren; and eight Great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 29 at 1:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Barbara Morton, Rev. Joseph Lyon and Rev. Ronnie Morton. Burial will be in Union Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services at Wright Funeral Home.
