85, a resident of 188 St. Nicholas Ave., NY. NY, died Sunday, September 10 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Willie Moore Speed and Gladys Cooley Speed. She was a retired employee of the United States Postal Service.

She is survived by a sister, Doris Speed Harvey (Bennett) of Elizabethtown; one Aunt, Lessie Cooley Hicks (Cameron) of Creedmoor; special cousins, Brenda Speed Thornton (Charles), Helen Speed Lipscomb, Mildred Johnson and Helena Watkins, several caring nephews, James Speed of Raleigh and Victor Tyree, who also helped as a caretaker in New York.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 27 at 1pm by Reverend Randolph Moton at Wright Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in the Synama Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
