Emma Perry Townsend, 83, of Gun Club Road, Henderson, transitioned on Friday, April 24, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Granville County to the late Willie Lee Perry and Pauline Wimbush Perry.

She is survived by three children: Shawnda Townsend of Henderson, Roderick Townsend (Sharon) of Franklinton and Cynthia Hargrove of Snow Camp; six sisters: Clara Whittington (Grover) of Henderson, Brenda Hansley of Oxford, Pastor Gracie Perry of Henderson, Deborah King (Bernard) of Burlington, Mary Woodard (Jasper) of Henderson, Jacqueline Burton (Ray) of Henderson, Roy A. Perry of Henderson and Kevin Perry (Josephine) of Henderson; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm, Tuesday, April 28 at Michael Creek Baptist Church (7683 John Penn Rd, Oxford, NC 27565) with Rev. Wiley W. Robinson, Pastor, Eulogist. Viewing will be from 5pm to 7pm, Monday, April 27, at Wright Funeral Home.
