Obituary

90, a resident of 1300 Goshen Street, died Thursday, March 23 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Alexander Yancey and Lena Greenwood Yancey.

She is survived by two sons, Willie T. Harris, Jr. and Maurice W. Harris, Sr. both of Oxford; four daughters, Lena H. Oakley, Gwendolyn Ann Williams and Pearlistine Harris all of Oxford and Wanda H. Gipson of Vero Beach, FL; a stepdaughter and stepson, Debbie Griffin and Robert Chavis both of Oxford; four sisters, Ida Lois Taylor of New York, NY, Ola Mae Watts of Philadelphia, PA, Minnie Parker of Kittrell, NC and Charlotte Mann of Bunn, NC; three brothers, William Yancey of Dover, NJ, Edward Donnell Yancey and Valentino Yancey both of Oxford; and a vast number of grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren. grandchildrenchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Granville Baptist Church by Reverend James Isaac III.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, March 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home.  Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more are required.
