83, a resident of 8118 NC Highway 96 North, died Sunday, June 12 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Graham Throckmorton and Pearl Harris Throckmorton. She was a retired farmer.

She was a 1955 graduate of the former Joe Toler High School.

She is survived by four sisters: Melcina T. Yancey of Durham, Catherleen T. Washington of Maryland, Zora Throckmorton and Essie C. Throckmorton both of the home; seven nieces, Susie, Mary, Gwen, Lillie, Gloratta, Nelcina and Shiritta; five nephews, Willie, Willard, Larry, Joseph and Detroit; a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 16 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church by Elder William Alston and Pastor Willie N. Yancey. Burial will be in the Throckmorton family cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
