93, died Sunday, January 24 at VCU Hospital in Richmond, VA. She was the youngest of six children born the the late Ella Nelson Marrow and Lewis Marrow in Oxford, North Carolina. She is predeceased by her husband, Dallas James Dickey, Sr, a sister, Clara Marrow McLean and four brothers, Willie Melvin "Bruh" Marrow, Lewis Marrow, Jr., Harold Marrow, and Thomas Marrow.

Growing up in Oxford, she was a "touch little girl"; following after her brothers, she held her own in a house full of boys. She attended the former Mary Potter Academy. She had a sense of community that was evident in her willingness to "meet people right where they were", taking them in, loving them, and treating them like family. Consistent with a woman from the south she was a champion in the kitchen as well. She could cook with the best, but meatloaf was her nemesis. In 1978 she moved to Richmond, VA where she lived for forty-two years. Her love and sacrifice for others grew even more after she responded to a clear presentation of the Gospel through her daughter, Dalphine. She accepted Christ as her Savior in October of 1992 at the age of sixty-five. A mother of four, two sons and two daughters, she was blessed over four generations and countless lives.

She is survived by her four children: Dallas James Dickey, Jr., Willard Elmo "W E" Dickey, Dalphine Dickey Blake, and Joyce Dickey Barrett; a legacy of three generations of Grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends, especially Mary Lou "Teeny" Brown and Estelle Spencer.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 3, at 1:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home. Covid-19 guidelines will be adhered to: face covering and social distancing of six feet at both the viewing and chapel services. Viewing restricted to no more than ten people in the building at any one time, and funeral services limited to family selection of fifty people.
