Obituary

76, a resident of 5606 Tabbs Creek Church Road, died Thursday, May 7 at Duke University Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John Taylor and Vera Howard Taylor. She was a retired employee of Revlon.

She is survived by her husband, James "Buddy" Dawes; four daughters, Vernita Dawes, Tammy Dawes, Yamika Dawes all of Oxford, and Pamela Dawes of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, James R. Dawes of Oxford, and William Dawes of Creedmoor; two sisters, Edna Peace of Oxford, and Alicia Taylor of Montclair, NJ; four brothers, Haywood Taylor, Alfred Taylor, Vernon Taylor and Michael Taylor all of Oxford; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Rev. Dr. Charles Bullock will conduct a graveside service (limited to 50 people with social distancing of six feet) Tuesday, May 12 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
