69, a resident of 2564 Smith Road, died Saturday, July 3 at his home. He was the son of the late William F. Taylor and Esther Jenkins Taylor. He was a retired employee of the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was an accomplished guitarist and a lover of antique trucks.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Moss Taylor; a daughter, Trish T. Taylor Kee (Cal) of Hampton, VA; two sons, Edward S. Taylor, Jr. (Chancel) of Durham and Darius K. Taylor (Alexis) of Henderson; four brothers, Donnell Taylor (Janice) of Oxford, Calvin Taylor (Marilyn) of Richmond, VA, Samuel L. Taylor (Ann) of Elizabeth Town, KY and Alfonza Taylor (Nellie) of Henderson; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday, July 9, on the grounds of Wright Funeral Home. Please observe Covid-19 protocol of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
