80, a resident of 3649 Ashton Glenn Dr., died Sunday, Dec. 29 at Durham Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Reed Spencer and Fannie Skipwith Spencer. He was a retired educator.

He is survived by five daughters, Bernetta Bailey of Henderson, Veronica Hughes of Woodbridge, VA, Michelle Johnson of Marion, Wendy Clegg of Biscoe, and Cortnee Barnett of Fayetteville; two sisters, Fannie S. Wilson and Mary S. Umstead both of Oxford; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Alvin B. Downey. Burial will be in Davis Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. There will be no public viewing.
