66, a resident of 504 Links Court, died Wednesday at Mariah Parham Medical Center. He was the son of Louise Redfern Wright Johnson and the late Roscoe Wright of Fayetteville.

He is survived by a wife, Maresa Jones Wright; two daughters, Sabrina Wright and Ashley Wright both of Henderson; three sons, Eddie Wright, Jr., Raleigh, Damious Alston of Temple Hills, MD and Troy Wright of Alexandria, VA; six sisters, Paula Johnson, Roselle, NJ, June Calhoun of Upper Marlboro, MD, Joanne Wright of Newark, NJ, Phillis Johnson-Ball, Sandra Johnson-Mikell and Olivia Hawkins all of Washington, DC; two brothers, Ronnie Wright of Florida and Leemaea Hughes of Newark, NJ; and eight grandchildren.

He has served as a Vance County Commissioner since 2000. He served as chairman of the board for the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce in 2011 and on the boards for Granville-Public Health District, Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity and Smart Start. He was a retired Bail Bondsman. He was a member of the NAACP and the Black Leadership Caucus. He was known as a champion of the underserved and underprivileged.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by Reverend Clarence Dale. Burial will be Tuesday, September 15,2015 in Maryland National Memorial Cemetery in Beltsville, Maryland. The family will receive visitors Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
