72, a resident of 6177 Highway 96 North, died Monday, Feb. 13 at Granville Health System. She was the daughter of the late Nathan Person and Roberta Alston Person of Vance County. She was a former receptionist for Duke University Hospital. She was a member of New Hope Granville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Lue Thornton, Jr., one son, Anthony Thornton of Durham; one sister, Mabel Person of Durham; two brothers, Jack Person of Mississippi and Nathan Person of Kittrell; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Feb. 19 at 1pm at New Hope Granville Baptist Church by Rev. James Isaac III. Burial will be in the Person Family cemetery in the Kittrell community. A viewing is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18 from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home. All services require facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
