CHANGE OF VENUE!!!

57, a resident of 1111 Casey Dr., Wake Forest, died Thursday, March 23 at Duke Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Richard B. Sanford and Laure B. Morgan. He was a fifteen year employee of Altec in Butner. He was a 1985 graduate of South Granville High School and a member of United for Christ Church in Durham where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Cotton Sanford; two sons, Joshasah Cotton (Nicole) of Timberlake and and Ronquelle "Rock" Johnson (Tanya) of Durham; a bonus daughter, Ni-Keya Wright (Daryl) of Durham; four grandchildren, Natalia, Justice, Jaden and Dominic; two great grandchildren, Juliana and Miles; two brothers, Terry Sanford (Candace)of Franklinton and Jesse Sanford of Oxford; one sister, Teresa Sanford of Butner; a mother-in-law, Maxine Cotton of Raleigh; three sisters-in-law, Sandra Tucker of Durham, Carolyn Green of Creedmoor and Rose C. Street of Raleigh;  two-brothers-in-law, Stephon Cotton of Franklinton and Douglas Cotton (Alfreda) of Oxford; one aunt, Alice Sanford of Oxford; two uncles, Isaac Sanford of Oxford and John Sanford (Lucy Mae) of Butner; a vast number of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 1, at 2pm at First Baptist Church (320 Granville St., Oxford) by Bishop Deryl Bowick, Bishop Thomas Daniel, Carolyn Green and Pastor Stanley Sanford. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, March 31, from 5pm-7pm at Wright Funeral Home and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed at both services.
