Della Mae Estes Jefferson, 88, transitioned on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. She was born in Granville County to the late Thomas Elvis Estes and Estella Spivey Estes.

She is survived by a daughter, Claudia Baptista (Anthony) of Carteret, New Jersey; one sister, Estelle Staten of Wake Forest; two brothers: Johnny Estes (Estella) of Butner and Calvin Estes (Sharon) of Durham; two grandchildren, and a host of extended relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, July 26, 2026, at rock Spring missionary Baptist Church (3180 Bruce Garner Rd, Creedmoor, NC 27522). Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
