90, a resident of 6566 Sidney Cottrell Road, Oxford, transitioned Friday, Oct. 4 at Brantwood Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Garland Heggie and Ora Landis Heggie. He was a master carpenter by profession.

He is survived by his wife Naomi Glover Heggie; two daughters, Doretta Cairo (Percy) of Winterville, and Beatrice Oakley of Henderson; two sons, Bishop Garland Heggie (Tameka) of Creedmoor, and Antron Heggie (Lakeisha) of Greensboro; one sister, Geraldine Royster of Oxford; twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 11 at 1pm at Hardie Grove Baptist Church by his son, Bishop Garland Heggie. A viewing has been scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
