73, a resident of 3018 Gela Road, died Saturday July 1 at his home. He was the son of the late James "Jim" Harris and Annie Bell Terry Harris. He was a former employee of John Umstead Hospital, Murdoch Center and Central Regional Hospital. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons

He is survived by his wife, Florence Harris; two sons, James Andrew Harris, Jr. (Angela) and Rev. Reginald Tyrone Harris (Rebecca) all of Oxford; four sisters, Willie B. Cozart, Gloria Stovall (Joseph), Barbara Jean Royster (Curtis) and Penny Chavis (Phillip) all of Oxford; three brothers, Nelson Harris and Glenn Harris both Oxford, and Dwayne Harris (Kimberly) of Homestead, FL; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 5 at 2pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Reginald Harris. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for one hour prior to services at the church.
