68, a resident of 1516 College Street, died Sunday, June 27 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John Tarry and Eva Christmas Tarry, and the adopted daughter of Louise Tarry Hayes.

She was a graduate of Parkview High School in South Hill, VA and a member of Island Hill Church of Christ in Clarksville, VA. She was a former thirty-two year employee of the former Burlington Industries.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Allen, Sr.; one son, Marvin Allen, Jr. of of the home; two grandsons, Marvin Elijah Allen III and Keigan Elijah Allen both of Durham; Kyeli Jones whom she loved as a granddaughter; her mother, Louise Tarry Hayes of South Hill, VA; three brothers, Rev. Chester Tarry (Helen) of Clarksville, VA, Calvin Tarry of Chase City, VA and Willie "Junie Boy" Hayes of South Hill, VA; three sisters, Brenda Tarry of New York, NY, Linda Taylor of Chase City, VA and Pekethia P. Chavis of South Hill, VA; an uncle, Fitzhugh Lee Tarry (Sarah) of Buffalo, NY; four cousins who were like sisters to her, Hazel Vass of Summerville, SC, Carolyn Hamm of Raleigh, NC and Annette Henderson of Henderson, NC; a cousin that was like a brother, Jeffrey Wimbush; eleven sisters-in-law; nine brothers-in-law; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, July 1 at 2pm ay Huntsville Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Chester Tarry. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 30 from 4pm-6pm at Wright Funeral Home. Covid-19 guidelines of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed at all services.
