97, a resident of 2686 Horseshoe Road, Creedmoor, died Saturday, Oct. 5 at E. E. Toney Rest Home. She was the daughter of the late Luke Mitchell and Allie Allen Mitchell of Person County.

She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Newman and Effie Day both of Chesapeake, VA, Eva Day Mason of Durham, and Berdina Day Sneed of Creedmoor; six sons, Joseph Day of Pelham, Andrew Day and Theodore Day both of Durham, Bob Day of Oxford, Arnold Day of Greensboro, and Gary Day of Creedmoor; a sister, Annie Blackwell of Durham; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 1:00 P.M. at Pine Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Dorothy Evans. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home.
