82, a resident of 38 Squirrel Hollow in Henderson, Died Monday, Jan. 2 at her home.She was the daughter of the late Enoch Greene and Florence Nash Greene.

She is survived by her husband John Thornton; a son Brent Thornton of Raleigh; three sisters, Eldora Brinkley of Richmond, VA, Geraldine George of Henderson and DeDe Greene of New York, NY; a brother, Freddy Greene of Virginia Beach, VA; three half-sisters, Mary, Hallie and Ennise;  a special niece, Brenda Brinkley; eight sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a vast number of other nieces,nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Dec. 6 at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home by Rev. James Isaac III. Burial will be in New Hope Granville baptist Church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5 from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral home.
