87, a resident of Pelican Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center, died Friday, November 13. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Hicks and Rosa Bell Hicks of Franklin County. She was the widow of John Irving Kelly of Amelia, VA.

She lived most of her young adult life in New York City where she was employed with Crown Tip Stamping Company for twenty years. In New York she joined Bethel Way of the Cross Church. In 1972 she returned to North Carolina to help her mother care for her ailing father. She was employed at Softspun Knitting Mills for over twenty-seven years.

She is survived by a sister, Fannie Mickens of Winston-Salem.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, November 20 at 1:00 P.M. at Jesse Kittrell Cemetery by Rev. Terry Hicks. A viewing will be held thirty minutes prior to services at the cemetery.
