68, a resident of 302 Harris Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 7. He was the son of the late William T. Bass and Lillie Cash Bass. He was a retired career veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie Hawley Bass; three sons, D'velle Bass and Tavaras Bass both of Greensboro, and Shamar Bass of San Antonio, TX; four sisters, Maydene Nelson of Durham, Phyllis Lyons of Roxboro, Ann Jones and Flora Bass both of Rougemont; one brother, Lawrence A. Bass of Greensboro; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 13 at 1pm at Siloam Baptist Church by Rev. Willie Wayne Johnson. Burial will be in the Bass family cemetery with military rites. A viewing has been scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 12 from 2pm-4pm at Wright Funeral Home. Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more will be observed.
