76, a resident of Shonele Lane, Stem, died Tuesday, March 9 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Irene Taylor Allen and Crawford "Rick" Allen.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford where she served as Chairperson of Advent Season, and was a member of the Senior and Gospel Choirs.

She was a graduate of the former Mary Potter Academy and received her BA Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree from North Carolina College (now University). She earned her PHD from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was employed as a Professor at North Carolina Central University where she retired.

She was a member of the NCCU Alumni Association and was a life-time member of the NAACP. She was a Board member of the National Mary Potter Alumni Association where she sang in the National Mary Potter Choir. She was also a member of the Oxford Chapter of Les Gemmes, Inc. where she served on various committees.

She was also predeceased by her god-parents, Fred and Helen Bagley; her uncles, Ellis Taylor (Irene), George Taylor and Jim Taylor.

She is survived by her brother, Ralph Bagley; a nephew, Keith Bagley, and Keith's children whom she adored, Cameron Latta, Bryce Pittard, Kanye Bagley, Ayani Bagley and Elvin Evans; the Ellis and Irene Taylor clan; the George and Jim Taylor family clan; a vast number of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, March 13 at 1:00 P.M. at Big Zion AME Church by Rev. Edward Davis and Rev. Willie S. Darby. There will be no public viewing. Remember to observe Covid-19 protocol of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
