62, a resident of 302 E. Church Street, Creedmoore, died Tuesday, July 7 at his home. He was the son of the late Charles Burgess, Sr. and Evelyn Thorpe Burgess. He was self-employed in the trucking business. He was a 1976 graduate of South Granville High School.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Laughter Burgess; his loving daughter, Nikki Burgess of Creedmoor; a brother, Glenn Burgess (Novella) of Creedmoor; his sister, Geraldine Thornton of Butner; a sister-in-law, Annie Mildred Burgess; a brother-in-law, Samuel Chester Downey ; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Rev. Dennis Daniel (a life-long friend) conducted graveside services Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 A.M. at Meadowview Memorial Park with  a gathering of family and very close friends. Also present was a brigade of 75-100 of his motorcycle buddies with their beautiful machines. Quite a tribute to a really good guy.
