84, a resident of 2114 Queensway Court, Creedmoor, died Monday, June 13, at the home of his daughter, Michelle Kidd. He was the son of the late Melvin Oakley and Lenoria Chavis Oakley. He was a retired employee of Bandag Corp.

He is survived by four daughters, Marie Oakley and Audrey Jarvis both of Durham, Michelle Kidd of Creedmoor and Annette Taylor of Oxford; two sons, Bobby Oakley of Hampton, VA and James Oakley of Durham; four sisters, Marie Whitaker and Anna Cooper both of Oxford, Odessa Harris of Hampton, VA, and Patricia White of Newport News, VA; and one brother, Samuel Oakley of Oxford.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 17 at 2pm on the grounds of Wright Funeral Home by Rev. James Isaac III. Burial will be in New Hope Granville Baptist Church cemetery. A viewing is scheduled for one hour prior to services at Wright Funeral Home. Though attendance is not limited, the family request that attendees observe Covid-19 protocols of facial coverings and social distancing of six feet or more.
