96, a resident of Oxford, NC, died Thursday, February 1 at his home. He was the son of the late Anderson Worrell and Gertrude Thompson Worrell of Goldsboro. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as an engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Morton Worrell; four children, Lorraine MacApine (David), C. Geneviene Petersen, Thomas Worrell and Fletcher Worrell; two stepchildren, Kathryn Henderson and Jerald Henderson; five siblings, Rev. Donnell Worrell, George Worrell (Angelee), Shirley Worrell Gleen, Gertrude Worrell McBride and Betty Worrell.

Graveside services with military rites will be conducted Friday, February 9 at 2pm at Meadowview Memorial Park by Rev. Donnell Worrell. The family request face masks at all services. A viewing will be held at the graveside.
