Alfonza Wilkerson, 78, of Sycamore Street, transitioned Monday, June 29, 2026 at the Durham VA Hospital. He was born in Granville County to the late George and Hattie Mae Yancey Wilkerson.

He is survived by his siblings: Georgia M. Williams, Robert L. Wilkerson, Janet W. Thorpe, and Edna S. Wilkerson all of Oxford, Charles L. Wilkerson (Ernestine) of Hampton, VA, and Stanley Wilkerson (Lakia) of Clinton, MD.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm, Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend David Thorpe. Burial will follow in the New Grassy Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12pm to 2pm, Saturday, July 4 at Wright Funeral Home.
