Adolph "AD" Wright was born in Granville County to the late Olivia Kersey Wright and George W. Wright, Sr. on July 13, 1948. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in New York City, NY at the age of 77.

He was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by a son, Demarkus Wright (Ladissha); daughter, Jill; companion, Patricia "Patty Cake" Diggs; grandchildren: Maia Dequavion. Bryson, Alan and Karter; sister, Barbara Johnson; brother, George W. Wright, Jr. (Jacquelyn); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
